The Streamcream Face Challange (Freebie Alert)

I am a huge fan of Steamcream, you can read my cheerleading blog entry here . I love the simple but effective use of simple ingrediants that are designed for as many skin types as possible. I also like the collectability of the tins as they all limied editions and beautifully designed.

Rocking Around The #BbloggersXmas Event!

This past weekend has been an orgy of Christmas parties - Husband's on Thursday night (bowling), my current works on Friday night (the 3 D's - Drinks, Dinner, Dancing), and then the one I was most looking forward to: #BbloggersXmas afternoon.

This was in Canary Wharf in The Reebok bar that looked over the temporary ice skating rink, perfectly Christmassy. It was hosted by ever glamorous and hard working Victoria and Lola. I know from running previous events that it is hard work, and they ever rocked it in high heels. Many thanks for the invite to join in, great day was had by all (I might of even heart rumours that might be one in March).

I must admit I was feeling the effects of being out for two nights, but was happy to relax on the sofa with a cuppa and take everything in. I was soon joined by Catherine we were chatting away and found that we only live a few miles from each other, such a small world as well as already a regularly reader which met a lot.

Over the next few hours I ended up hanging out with the glam Dani, Nessie, Erin and Emma. We chatted, ate cake pops and got addicted to barbecue Popchips. At the end of the night we were being kicked out as we were chatting so much. It was great to see faces to tweets including Grace as I won one of her giveaways and it was great to thank her in person. I'm sorry if I missed anyone, but I'm sure I will be seeing more of everyone soon.

I didn't get any pictures as I just wanted to sit back and see what happened as it my first event, if you go to the other girls sites you will spot some (including me). This is however the over generous goodie bag that was included - My highlights it (apart from another packet of Popchips) is the Sleek Sparkle 2 Palette, Bad Apple duochrome nail varnish and Emergency Stylifile. I'm sure I'll find more in the lot below to get crazy about.

Razorpit Teneo Razor Sharpener Review and Giveaway

Shaving - not the most glamorous things to talk about. I have talked lyrical about this before in a previous Masterclass on Hair Removal. I still consider myself lucky that companies want to try products out for them, not only did I get to be asked to try this out but I also have one for you guys to try yourself.

The Razorpit Teneo works on the same technology that barbers use strops for - it removes organic matter from the razors blades that can make it dull. By clearing this debris away it means that the blade lasts longer and not need to replaced that often. It can be used on all razors, by applying foam or soap to the strop area and moving the head up and down.

I had this for a few months now and haven't had to replace a shaver head yet. My husband, who normal has no interest in anything I get, was noisy around this and it soon disappeared near his Mac Infusion razor. He as well is also happy with it, and now I have lost it forever to him. He then mentioned it to my dad who then borrowed it, and I had to beg it back so I can then redo my razor.

Thankfully I've managed to hide this new one from them so I can give you guys a chance of grabbing one yourself. You better enter before they find it.....

How I am spending my weekend

I am rather excited this weekend, I am going to Olympia Beauty 2012 in London. It is a once a year event that the beauty trade goes to see what is coming for the next season as well as share ideas and be tempted by loads of pretty things to buy look at. I missed last years after being on crutches, so I'm determined to make up for it!

Not only it is one of the biggest trade show, but launching this year is the first ever The Art of Make Up competition for New and Junior make up artists. This is alongside Nailympics, where nail technictions compete for 10 trophies and 96 medals. This is where you'll find the creme de la creme of the nail art world. This is one of last years winners, Maria De Loudres Destassiaux Vargara, who won Division 3 in Fantasy Nail Art.

Ciate's Bon Bon Vs. Nails Inc. Portchester Square

I never really been a nude nail girl, I'd rather have my nails making a bold statement, but then I may be mellowing in my old age and starting to think about getting some nudes in my collection. Marie Claire has this one in their magazine as a freebie (it will be ending this week so grab then while you can, there are two other colours to collect). I did wear it for a while (NOTD here), and while it's a reasonable varnish, the colour really didn't bowl me over.

I then did an order with LatestInBeauty (Here) where they were (and still are) selling this colour for £6.00 instead of £11 and thought why not? I received my order on Saturday and while watching the F1 (wasn't it an awesome race?!) painted my nails and wondered how the two together would compare.

The first thing that strikes me is that the Ciate Bon Bon is acutally more of a lilac, while the Nails Inc. Porcester Square is a lot more of a nuder brown. I also found the Bon Bon against my skintone was right at all, while the Nails Inc complimented more. Painting wise, I found the Nails Inc much more easier to use and in these pictures it's only one coat while the Ciate has two.

I also put them to ultimate manicure test - I painted each hand in the colours and did two hours of housework (scrubbing, hot water, cleaning chemicals, the whole thing!). The Ciate didn't fair well and started to chip towards the end. However, the Nails Inc stood up to the test and still look reasonable glossy.

So sorry Ciate as pretty as your bottles are, when it comes down to giving it some punishment it didn't stand the test of a good house clean. Nails Inc wins!

NOTD: Shake Your "Bon Bon"

Oh I do love a freebie, especially when it's a nail polish that should be £9 but is a price of a magazine (£3.70). This one is from a collection of 3 from Marie Claire magazine. I've never used Ciate (it does have a little accent above the E but my Asus tablet panics when I try to get it to work), so this was for me an ideal way of trying it out. As I said this is part of a collection, there is a soft lilac which is beautiful and a summery bright pink. I wanted this one as I just had to throw my Nails Inc version away; I find in comparison that this is more lilac than mushroom which I really like. I wore it today in a job trail for a reception job and last well against the typing of the keyboard, it has a good brush, varnish goes well on in two coats and the curved bottle is very good to hold. I most of all love the little black bow, such a sweet little touch. Currently resisting looking at the website (www.ciate.co.uk) as I know I'll buy something and I'm very very broke!
